I am thrilled to once again welcome Kate Rose—author and astrologer—back to Empowering Chats. In our first interview of 2026, Kate and I explore the astrology shaping the first part of the year.

At the time of this conversation, we were anticipating the Year of the Fire Horse, an energy represented by strong fire influence and inner authority—very much aligned with Aries energy and the call to trust our own inner knowing.

Together, we explore the question: How can we be of benefit to ourselves and to those around us? Do we follow the masses, or do we stand firmly in what is right and true according to Universal standards? A key theme throughout this conversation is learning how to truly trust yourself.

Kate also dives into the February astrology and what we can expect. A solar eclipse on February 17th coincides with the start of a Lunar New Year and the beginning of the Year of the Fire Horse. Solar eclipses represent outer energy, and collectively this energy will follow us through most of this year. While intense at times, with a strong focus on external events we can expect greater unpredictability and more unexpected developments both personally and globally.

The Fire Horse brings movement and impulse, making it especially important to pause before making decisions—a point Kate emphasizes as essential for the year ahead.

Neptune’s shift from Pisces into Aries also signals powerful new beginnings. As this transition unfolds, painful truths—both individually and collectively—may come to light. While some of what emerges may be difficult to face, it is through awareness that real change and new choices become possible.

We also explored generational karma and the importance of honestly examining the energies we’ve long lived with. The Year of the Fire Horse offers a profound opportunity to heal not only personal history, but collective wounds as well.

As individuals, we are reminded that while we may care deeply about humanity and the larger world, our true power lies in tending to our own lives—the bubble we live in and the ripple we create. It’s not about changing another’s karma, but about staying balanced within ourselves and reconnecting to the joy, love, peace, and divine essence we each carry.

This year will bring movement, challenges, and moments of imbalance—but as Kate reminds us, it will also bring progress, growth, and powerful new beginnings.
